One Loss After Another

As if the Bruins’ 6-5 loss to the Montreal Canadiens Wednesday night wasn’t painful enough, tempered Bruins fans woke up to find Calgary Flames captain Jarome Iginla would not be hopping on the first plane to Boston. The Bruins blew a two-goal, third-period lead, and lost in a shootout. Iginla is now in Pittsburgh, leaving Boston sulking the corner. Jarome Iginla was supposed to hopefully dramatically improve the Bruins’ offense but he said he’d rather play for the Penguins. Boston lost out by no fault of its own. The Bruins reportedly offered the Calgary Flames a package that included defenseman Matt Bartkowski, center Alexander Khokhlachev, and a first-round draft pick. The Flames reportedly preferred Boston's offer, but stuck to the demands of their player. Maybe Iginla isn’t really the type of player the Bruins ultimately want.
